In a professional sense, major lack of organization and communication between and within departments often make it a miserable place to work. And if you want to be part of a great, altruistic organization, forget it - it's all about making money. The turnover rate of employees is excessively high because almost all employees are dispendable. Goodwill proudly reports the numbers they have hired and "helped" each year, but that report is lacking in substance and real truth - it's all about manipulating the numbers to make them look good. The "disadvantaged" are basically taken advantage of in order for a few to thrive. Only the high-level employees earn decent wages and can afford to insure their families. Almost everyone else is kept at the level of having to seek assistance from other agencies to survive. While they are not all bad and do some good work, it is basically a disappointment.
